Venezuela’s tourism sector is gaining international attention

Cairo- Nessma Youssef

Venezuela has recently been seeking to enhance its international tourism status and place it on the international tourism map, given the country’s diverse tourism offerings that meet the needs of tourists. This will contribute to the diversification and development of the national economy. This is part of the strategies promoted by Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and implemented by the Minister of Popular Power for Tourism, Leticia Gómez.

As part of this plan, Venezuela is promoting its tourist attractions and highlighting its tourism potential, including its stunning natural landscapes, biodiversity, and beautiful turquoise beaches. These attractions make it a popular destination for many tourists already planning trips and vacations abroad.

To promote Venezuela and place it on the global tourism map, Venezuela plans to organize familiarization trips for travel agents, influencers, and media professionals to explore the country and promote Venezuelan tourism.

• Promoting inbound tourism between Venezuela and Japan

In a related context, Japanese tour operator Ota Shiashi arrived in Venezuela last week, where he is conducting a familiarization trip and tours of the country’s most popular destinations to learn about the country’s natural, cultural, culinary, and historical treasures.

The Japanese tour operator toured the capital, visiting the historic center, the White Palace, several markets, and the birthplace of Simón Bolívar, Paseo de los Proceres. He is also traveling to various states in Venezuela to showcase the country’s cultural richness.

The Minister of Popular Power for Tourism, Leticia Gómez, met with Ota Shiashi and stated, “We continue to promote inbound tourism from Japan.” In a post on her personal Instagram account, she emphasized that “this meeting is fruitful for both countries as part of the country’s strategic measures to promote tourism, an important driver of the national economy.”
