Twitter users report wide outage in latest issue
Twitter Inc. users on Wednesday reported problems loading the service related to the latest outage since billionaire Elon Musk took over the company and laid off thousands of employees.
Users began reporting problems loading tweets from the site just before 10am London time on Tuesday, according to outage tracking platform Downdetector.
This follows problems last month that prevented users in the US and Asia from tweeting, checking messages, or following new accounts.
An email requesting comment from Twitter was not immediately returned; The company previously fired its entire PR department.
Twitter has seen a sweeping downsizing that began with a 50 percent headcount reduction after Musk took over last year to cut costs following its $44 billion acquisition. The company laid off additional staff on Saturday, including workers in the engineering and product departments, people familiar with the matter said.
Musk has eliminated more than 3,700 jobs from Twitter, or half the company’s workforce, over the past year.
