AirlineRatings.com, the world’s only safety and product rating website, has named Air New Zealand Airline of the Year for 2023. Air New Zealand is being honored for the seventh time since 2013 for its multi-award-winning in-flight innovations, such as the SkyNest economy beds, operational safety, environmental leadership and staff motivation. Air New Zealand pushed past winner Qatar Airways (2021, 2022) Etihad Airways, Korean Air and Singapore Airlines into first place.

The AirlineRatings.com Airline Excellence Awards, judged by five editors with decades of industry experience, combine major safety and government audits, with 11 key criteria including: fleet age, passenger ratings, profitability, investment rating, product offerings and employee relations. Geoffrey Thomas, editor-in-chief of AirlineRatings.com, said: “In our objective analysis, Air New Zealand came in as number one in many key areas, although it scored very well for the top five.”
