The US Embassy in Cairo brings world-famous Harlem globetrotters to Egypt

CAIRO – The United States Embassy in Cairo is proud to announce that the world-famous Harlem Globetrotters will be in Egypt from May 27th to June 3rd. The U.S. Embassy is pleased to partner with this iconic American sports institution to promote cultural exchanges and connections between the Egyptian and American people.

“The Harlem Globetrotters represent diversity, perseverance and pure love of the game,” said US Ambassador to Egypt Herro Mustafa Garg. “We are so proud to support this program as a testament to the enduring cultural partnership between the Egyptian and American people and as further evidence of Egypt’s leading role in global tourism, sports and creative industries throughout the Middle East.”

The Harlem Globetrotters are a team built on diversity and committed to bringing together people of different backgrounds and physical abilities to promote cultural exchange and community pride. While in Egypt, the Harlem Globetrotters will conduct community basketball clinics with female athletes and youth groups, in addition to an event with wheelchair basketball players from the Al Hassan Foundation for Differently Abled Inclusion. Before each game, the Globetrotters invite young Egyptian basketball players and athletes with special needs to participate in their trademark “Magic Pass” program, offering participants a unique opportunity to interact with the players in person.

Tickets are free for the general public. The Harlem Globetrotters will play two games in Cairo on May 31 at Hasan Mostafa Arena on October 6. The team will also play in Alexandria on June 1 at the Alexandria Sporting Club. The ticket registration portal is managed by the Egypt Athletes Forum, organized by iChamp.
