The Tyson Foods CFO, who was found asleep at a stranger’s house while allegedly intoxicated, has “his board’s ongoing confidence in his leadership.”

John. R. Tyson, chief financial officer of Tyson Foods and great-grandson of the company’s founder, pleaded not guilty to charges of public intoxication and criminal trespassing.

His trial is scheduled for February 15, according to a Fayette District Court official who asked not to be named because he is not authorized to speak publicly.

The CFO was arrested in November after he was found sleeping in a strange house in Northwest Arkansas. The arrest came about a month after he was appointed CFO of the top US meat company. He told colleagues and investors that he was embarrassed.

The company said so in a statement on Thursday, and a committee of board members is separately reviewing the incident.

“The Board supports Mr. Tyson and continues to have confidence in his ability to lead Tyson Foods as CFO,” the statement said.

The company has been under pressure from rising inflation, which has caused some consumers to cut back on beef and poultry purchases.
