The Embassy of India in Egypt celebrates International Women’s Day under the theme “Stronger Women, Better Future”

The Embassy of India in Cairo held a special event to celebrate International Women’s Day at the Maulana Azad Centre for Indian Culture. This year’s International Women’s Day is celebrated under the theme “For All Women and Girls: Rights, Equality, and Empowerment.” Under this theme, the Indian government is adopting the slogan “Stronger Women, Better Future.”
The event was attended by a number of women from various walks of life, including members of the diplomatic corps and prominent figures from the Indian diaspora and the Egyptian community.
The Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of India in Egypt, C. Sushma, highlighted the Indian government’s initiatives aimed at promoting women-led development and women’s empowerment. During the event, a series of videos were screened highlighting these initiatives and pioneering Indian women in various fields.
As part of the “India Fitness Initiative,” the Government of India adopted the theme “Stronger Women, Better Future” to celebrate International Women’s Day this year. Under the supervision of yoga instructor Anita Solanki, a chair yoga session was held, allowing participants to practice yoga while seated on chairs to improve flexibility and physical fitness.
An exhibition of medicinal plants, herbs, and nutritious millets was also organized to emphasize the importance of a healthy diet and nutrition for overall fitness.
