What is the Women2Women International Leadership Program?

Over 100 girls from up to 30 countries come to the Women2Women International Leadership Program each year to exchange ideas, share cultures and make friendships that will last a lifetime. In 2023, the U.S. Embassy in the Netherlands will send up to four young women to Boston, Massachusetts for the program, which runs Thursday, July 20 through Saturday, July 29 and is being organized by strengthen peace. The US Embassy in The Hague will cover all program costs, including international airfare.

The W2W program offers an educational opportunity to learn, network and develop leadership skills to make a difference in your community in The Netherlands. You have the opportunity to meet and make friends with like-minded people from all over the world.

TThe program includes team building activities, seminars and workshops with prominent leaders from government, media, business, science and technology and non-profit organizations. Sessions focus on leadership development, skill building and cultural activities. Each year up to 100 young women from around the world will be selected to participate and the US Embassy in The Hague will send up to four young women from the Netherlands in 2023. Lifelong, global network of women supporting and working together, to contribute to positive change around the world.

The program is held on a Boston-area college campus and adult female escorts are available 24 hours a day. Program participants are young women from over 30 countries, and Empower Peace’s professional staff places great emphasis on the safety of all participants.

W2W 2023 will focus on “The Power of Women” and the critical imperative for women to advance women’s rights and social justice and to speak out against sexual harassment and gender inequality. As a delegate, you will have the opportunity to learn about the current status of women and girls around the world and the social and economic progress that is possible when women and girls are given the opportunity to participate fully in all aspects of society to participate in society. You will meet leaders who are taking on these challenges on an international level and develop your leadership skills so that you can make a difference.

Who can apply:

We strongly encourage you to apply if you enjoy learning about other cultures and countries. In addition, you are open to working with a variety of individuals and teams from many different backgrounds. They also want to learn more about government, world affairs, media, community activism, and business. In addition, you have an interest in community service and you have strong leadership skills and abilities demonstrated through community service and/or other extracurricular activities. You are ready to make the most of this opportunity and share your experiences in your community upon your return.

Do you meet the following requirements?

  • They identify as female;
  • You are between 15 and 19 years old;
  • You have excellent knowledge of English.

Please note that you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with an approved vaccine Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) before traveling to the United States.

The US Embassy selects applicants based on the information provided on the application form. You will be asked in the form several questions and you write (4) personal statements (each max. 200-500 words). Answers should be written in English.

Application deadline: Monday, April 10th

A small number of applicants will be invited for an in-person interview in English at the US Embassy in The Hague on Monday 17 April in the afternoon. The selected candidates will be announced in April 2023.
