His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, inaugurated the proceedings of the third session of the Arab-Central Asian Economic Cooperation Forum, alongside the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Addressing the inaugural session, His Excellency expressed Qatar’s aspiration, as the current chair of the forum, to achieve consensus on a range of programs aimed at enhancing trade exchanges and investments between the two regions. These programs include collaborative efforts to ensure the sustainability of supply chains, improve transportation and transit links, address food and energy security, and promote joint investment projects.
Moreover, His Excellency highlighted the importance of the Doha Declaration, which is expected to outline practical plans and programs to contribute to international peace, security, and sustainable development. He emphasized the deep historical, cultural, and civilizational ties that bind the Arab world with Central Asia and Azerbaijan, providing a solid foundation for cooperation across various political, economic, social, cultural, and technological domains.
Acknowledging the crucial role of the Arab League in providing a platform for consultation and coordination, His Excellency underscored the commitment to fostering fruitful partnerships between the Arab world, Central Asia, and Azerbaijan. He emphasized the need for genuine economic partnerships that yield direct and mutually beneficial returns for all stakeholders, including governments, the private sector, and investors from both regions.
Furthermore, His Excellency reiterated Qatar’s commitment to collaboration and dialogue to achieve the goals of the international and regional community, including preserving the multilateral international system, promoting peace, security, stability, and prosperity worldwide.
