The Africa Adaptation Acceleration Program (AAAP) will host a discussion on scaling up youth-led approaches to adaptation on the sidelines of the 3rd Annual Gobeshona Global Conference on Research into Action. Organized by the International Center for Climate Change and Development, Gobeshona will take place March 10-16, 2023.
The African Adaptation Acceleration Program is a joint initiative of the African Development Bank and the Global Center on Adaptation.
The session will draw on the YouthADAPT pillar of the AAAP, which aims to unlock the untapped potential of African youth to drive resilience and green entrepreneurship. It will showcase youth-led innovations and innovative technologies and discuss best practices for scaling innovative technologies. It will also explore the key role young people can play in driving innovation and adaptation to climate technology.
Young people are at the limit of climate risk as today’s climate action will directly affect the rest of their lives. With an urgent drive to take action to prevent catastrophic climate change, more and more young people are leading climate adaptation efforts in their communities and regions with innovative adaptation solutions that drive real and concrete change.
