Feversham Arms, which I reviewed late last year, has launched a stunning new penthouse-style poolside suite to add to their recent collection of newly refurbished suites. This new addition brings the total number of resort-inspired poolside suites to six.

Two are on the upper floors and each has access to the pool terrace via its own staircase; while four are on the ground floor and enjoy their own private pool terraces.

The cozy penthouse suite nestles in the eaves of the hotel, giving it an intimate atmosphere. Ideal for couples who appreciate their own romantic, private retreat. Shades of dark gray and teal dominate the suite’s signature palette throughout, embracing the suite with a sophisticated, mature feel. The interior uses mango wood furnishings, pale gold upholstery, occasional lamps, mirror placement and Velux skylights to introduce layers of atmospheric light to enhance the rich color scheme.

Architecturally interesting with painted oak beams, nooks and crannies, the suite has the added appeal of a living space with a fireplace, a walk-in dressing room and two bathrooms – one with a double-ended bath and separate walk-in monsoon shower, as well as an additional year after that. Luxurious extras such as plush towels and robes, Temple Spa products, duck down bedding and a coffee maker, with air conditioning added to guest comfort during the warmer months.

Ingo Wiangke – the hotel’s general manager commented: ‘The sophisticated style of this new suite contrasts with the established pool suites, which are more colorful and Mediterranean in style – this was a bold and deliberate design choice on our part, in collaboration with our interior designer Piper. we’ve turned it into a unique adult hideaway in the eaves, making the most of the suite’s intimate space. It complements our selection of rooms as an option for our guests, and we expect the suite to appeal to couples seeking romantic seclusion.

Once again, Pip of Pip Interior Designs made conscious use of local traders, artisans and independent retailers to successfully complete the renovation of the suite. Supporting our rural community in Helmsley itself, or neighboring Kirkbymoorside and Pickering, is a sustainable, community-led choice and is therefore very close to our hearts.”

In addition to the collection of six renovated pool suites, this four red star hotel has a further selection of 28 bedrooms and suites, a spa with relaxation room and outdoor hot tub and a two AA rosette restaurant, ‘The Weathervane’, where the focus is on locally sourced, fresh seasonal produce. During the summer season, you can dine al fresco on the terrace by the pool at lunchtime.

Located in the heart of picturesque Helmsley with its many boutiques and craft shops, a traditional weekly market, medieval castle ruins, walled gardens and local walks through Duncombe Park and nearby open countryside, it is the ideal place to enjoy a relaxing stay to the delights of North Yorkshire, including the North York Moors and the East Yorkshire coastline.
