Marcelo in COP 27: Mexico has an ambitious plan for green energy.
Marcelo Ebrard, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mexico, said during the Climate Conference; It is estimated that in the period from 2022 to 2030, an additional investment of around 48 billion dollars will be mobilized to Mexico from the public and private sectors to double the generation capacity of clean energy and reduce 52 million tons of additional CO2.
He pointed out that the Mexican plan would mean thousands of new jobs, accelerate the expansion of its green economy and, above all, ensure clean energy needs for Mexico’s exports.
He stated that with the efforts of the United States and Canada, the North American region looks to have one of the most efficient energy transitions in the world. The plan aims to develop energy considering installing solar power plants to generate electricity, and it seeks to attract investments in lithium, electric mobility, semiconductors, and clean energy.
