Jennifer Coolidge Golden Globes Speech Thanks Ryan Murphy and Mike White for Keeping Their Careers Alive

Jennifer Coolidge is fast becoming America’s sweetheart thanks to her award-winning performance in The White Lotus — but it wasn’t always like that.

Since appearing as “Stifler’s Mom” in 1999’s “American Pie,” the actress has been in the Hollywood star’s starting blocks before garnering legions of fans with comedic supporting roles in “Legally Blonde” and “Friends.”

But it seems the ‘The White Lotus’ star has now been welcomed into the Hollywood elite, debuting last night at the Golden Globes in California and then taking home the award for best actress in a limited series.

However, Coolidge used her acceptance speech to highlight her struggle to make a living in the brutal world of Hollywood, which eventually led to her landing a Golden Globe.

She said in her usual shy way, “There are five people in this room who have kept me going on these little jobs for 20 years.

“I didn’t know anyone and it [acting] was this thing that was going nowhere and then there were these people who would give me these cute little jobs and it would just be enough to get on to the next and the next.

“As a younger person, I had such big dreams and expectations, but what happened is that life kind of evaporated them. And then you get older and you think, “Oh, what’s going to happen?”

Not only did she thank Ryan Murphy, Michael Patrick King and Reese Witherspoon, but she also told tearful White Lotus creator Mike White that he “gave.” [her] hope” and “changed [her] Live in a million different ways”.

With casting agents on call, Coolidge was asked what “the ultimate dream role for [her] now” would be.

“I’ve always wanted to play a dolphin,” she replied.
