Japan and Egypt Forge Ahead in Oil and Gas Research and Development Cooperation

 

On March 10th, the Japanese Ambassador, Mr. Oka, embarked on a visit to the Egyptian Petroleum Research Institute, where fruitful discussions and exchanges took place with researchers, notably Professor Mahmoud Ramzy, the acting director of the institute. During the visit, Ambassador Oka conducted a thorough inspection of the institute’s facilities and centers.

It is worth mentioning that the Petroleum Research Institute conducts cutting-edge research in the fields of oil, gas, and energy, which hold significant importance for the Egyptian industry. Moreover, the institute actively engages in various areas, including signing memoranda of understanding with several countries, facilitating student exchange agreements with international universities, supporting startups aiming to produce high-quality materials locally, and obtaining numerous patents.

At the conclusion of the visit, Ambassador Oka expressed his gratitude to Professor Mahmoud Ramzy for his efforts in arranging the visit and conveyed his aspirations for future cooperation between the Egyptian Petroleum Research Institute and Japan.
