Q: What is France’s response to the report of the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Palestinian Territories, in which the latter mentions “reasonable grounds” to believe that Israel has committed several “acts of genocide”?
A: Regarding the qualification of genocide, I refer you to our previous statements. The International Court of Justice is seized.
Our demands regarding respect for international humanitarian law are well known. The President of the Republic reminded the Israeli Prime Minister, Mr. Benjamin Netanyahu, of this during their last telephone interview.
We remind you that Mrs Albanese does not interfere with the United Nations system.
We have had occasion in the past to be concerned about some of his problematic public positions and his challenge to the anti-Semitic nature of the October 7 terrorist attacks.
