The African Natural Resources Management and Investment Center of the African Development Bank will hold a workshop to officially launch the multi-country Governing Natural Resource Outflows for Enhanced Economic Resilience in Fragile and Transitional Countries (GONAT) project.

GONAT is an innovative project that aims to build national capacity to manage the outflow of natural resources through resource-backed lending and the illicit trade in natural resources, to improve domestic resource mobilization, debt sustainability and the overall strengthen economic resilience in selected African transition countries. It will be implemented over a period of two years in the following countries: the Central African Republic, Chad, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mozambique, Sierra Leone and Zimbabwe.

The hybrid Inception and Learning Workshop.event will bring together senior government officials from the six beneficiary countries, senior management and staff from the African Development Bank, National Focal Points from beneficiary countries. Members of the GONAT project task team, the private sector, civil society organizations and multilateral development organizations are also expected.
