Are you the type to hop on a plane without question and head off to your next adventure? Frontier Airlines, a low-cost carrier based in Denver, is back with its GoWild! All You Can Fly Pass, the best way for spontaneous travelers to take to the skies on a budget. We’re always looking for the best cheap flights or ways to travel on a budget, so this pass is particularly attractive.

The GoWild! All You Can Fly Pass allows travelers to fly with a unlimited number of Frontier flights in a given period. There are two passes: a summer pass, which can be used to travel between May 2, 2023 and September 30, 2023, and a annual pass that can be used from May 2, 2023 to May 2, 2024.

The Summer Pass retails for just $399 for the first year, while the Annual Pass costs just $1,299 per year.

You should be aware of various pre-purchase fine print and blackout dates that you should read and understand before purchasing your all you can fly pass to avoid any surprises.

Frontier says dates after May 2024 will be posted before accepting applications for pass periods that cover those dates.

Your pass is valid for one year, beginning May 2, 2023. For each flight, you pay $0.01 in airfare plus applicable taxes, fees, and surcharges at the time of booking.

Buy and use your Frontier GoWild! Pass is relatively easy. First you select which pass (summer or annual ticket) you want to buy. You then log in to your Frontier account (or register if you don’t have an account yet) and make your purchase.

Once you have the pass, simply search and book on the Frontier website the day before the flight departure for domestic travel and from 10 days before the flight departure for international travel – please note that you will only actually be able to book flights through the can only book May 2.

No matter which pass you choose, there are several ways to make the most of this great deal. Frontier has a pretty extensive route network, serving 120 destinations in the United States, the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America – that means you can score seats on some pretty competitive and popular routes. Here are the best ways to maximize your stride:

Use the All You Can Fly pass for international flights

Frontier offers a handful of transcontinental flights — some nonstop — while others have connections in cities like Denver or Las Vegas. Last-minute transcontinental flights can cost upwards of $500 round-trip on full-service airlines, so the pass could add up to a significant amount of cash if you find yourself traveling coast to coast on a regular basis.

Some examples of cross-country trails served by Frontier include:

Let’s look at one of the routes you could book, San Deigo to Orlando. If you’re a traveler flying out of San Diego, you might want to take advantage of Frontier’s non-stop flight to Orlando to visit one of the Disney theme parks, Universal Studios, or SeaWorld. Because you have booked the summer or annual pass, you will not be charged extra for your flight, leaving you with some extra pocket money to spend on a hotel or theme park activities.

Las Vegas is another good example. Frontier offers nonstop flights from many cities, including Baltimore, Chicago, Miami, and Seattle. Flights on these routes are usually sold out on major airlines, so getting a confirmed seat on a flight to Las Vegas is a perk not to be overlooked.

Fly internationally with Frontier’s route network

Frontier offers a decent network for international flights in North America, which is probably the best way to maximize the pass since it includes international travel.

Flights to destinations such as Montego Bay, Jamaica and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic can be pricey with major airlines during the popular summer months. One-way flights between Miami and Montego Bay, for example, can cost nearly $400 on regular airlines like American Airlines.

With the pass — as long as there’s availability and no blackout date — you can score multiple international trips for the same price, assuming you buy the Summer Pass.

There are several non-stop flights from the US to international destinations, such as Philadelphia to Cancun, Miami to Guatemala City, and Denver to Puerto Vallarta.

If you’re planning an international trip on Frontier, keep in mind that not all routes run daily. Frontier’s route between Atlanta and San Jose, Costa Rica, only runs twice a week – on Sundays and Thursdays. That means if you want a longer trip, you might want to book your trip on Sunday and return on Thursday.

Since you can’t book international travel more than 10 days in advance, you may want to set up a notification or reminder a few days before you book. When you have to set your alarm depends on what time the flight departs. For example, flights from Miami to Guatemala City usually depart at 11 p.m., so you’ll probably want to set an evening alarm to remind you to book. By contrast, flights from Philadelphia to Cancun typically depart at 7:30 AM, so it’s smart to set your alarm for the morning if you’re interested in booking this flight.

Things to keep in mind

Frontier is a low-cost airline, meaning it cuts costs by cutting back on things you usually get for free on a major carrier like Alaska Airlines or Delta Air Lines.

For a more comfortable journey on Frontier, you’ll need to pay in advance, such as seat selection, carry-on and checked baggage, and even in-flight snacks and drinks.

These costs can quickly add up if you don’t plan for them. But if you don’t mind getting a center seat or being limited to a personal bag — rather than visiting a new destination like Las Vegas or Cancun — the sacrifices may be worth it.

Other ways to score cheap flights

Not everyone has the luxury of being able to travel on such short notice, but that doesn’t mean you’re stuck paying full price. Beyond the GoWild! Pass, we’ve had good luck with Going (formerly Scott’s Cheap Flights), Skyscanner and Momondo. We love to talk about the best ways to find cheap flights, so be sure to subscribe to the ViaTravelers Destination Digest to stay up to date with the best deals on flights, hotels and more.
