Frontier Airlines is offering unlimited summer flights for $399
Frontier Airlines is rolling out an all-you-can-fly pass for summer travel that could pack the airline this holiday season.
The discount airline is charging $399 for their GoWild! Summer Pass, which gives buyers unlimited flights (at one cent each) for five months between May and September. All domestic and international routes are included, including Puerto Rico, Mexico and Latin America.
Baggage and assigned seat fees still apply. And travelers don’t get frequent flyer credit on their trips.
In a store reminiscent of Moviepass — but for heaven — passes are sold on a first-come, first-served basis, and Frontier hasn’t said how many it intends to offer.
Pass holders also need flexibility as tickets are only bookable the day before departure for domestic travel and 10 days before departure for international travel and are subject to blackout periods.
The pass will auto-renew at the end of summer unless canceled at a cost much more than $399. GoWild year-round passes are typically $1,999 and the summer pass is typically $999 per year.
Frontier is trying to stay in people’s minds after its proposed merger with Spirit Airlines fell apart last summer and may be looking to bolster its reputation for Southwest Airlines’ disastrous performance over the holiday season.
It might also mend the reputation a bit, as Frontier was one of six airlines (and the only U.S. airline) to agree to reimburse travelers over $600 million in a fare cut agreement with the Department of Transportation last year.
