Former Fremantle Docker Griffin Logue impresses at North Melbourne’s intra club as Darcy Tucker sits out

Former Fremantle swingman Griffin Logue has bounced back from an interrupted preseason to make a big impression in Saturday’s North Melbourne intra-club game at Arden Street.
Logue was among the best players in the first half before being put on hold, collecting the intercept marks and forming an exciting key defensive duo with Ben McKay.
The Swan Districts product, who was sold to the Kangaroos on a five-year deal last year after playing 64 games in six seasons at Freo, was on minutes managed and wore a Quinten Lynch-style glove on his right hand as he continues his recovery from a dislocated finger.
North Melbourne assistant coach Jordan Russell praised the former top-10 pick for his air qualities and leadership abilities.
“He and ‘Buckets’ McKay, the combination of them is pretty detrimental in terms of aerial ability and marking foot perspective,” Russell said.
“His lead is already there, he’s only been here three or four months but he’s actually only been on track a couple of weeks and you can see how quickly he’s integrated into the system which is great.

Fellow ex-Docker Darcy Tucker left the club after a knee injury sustained during his last game at Peel Thunder in September and is struggling around the clock to qualify for the first round match against West Coast at Marvel Stadium on Am March 18 to be fit.
“Darcy Tucker will come back and play football,” Russell said.
The Roos have two more practice games before the start of the season, on Friday against Richmond at Arden Street and on March 4 against the Western Bulldogs at Ikon Park.
