Newmarket Holidays predicts a rise in travel bookings in India following the return of the country’s e-tourist visas for UK citizens. Prior to the pandemic, India was a top-selling destination for the guided travel specialist, but the e-Tourist Visa application process for UK citizens was paused in March 2020 and then replaced by face-to-face appointments leading to lengthy delays in processing apps.

Richard Harrington, Newmarket Holidays Destination Manager – US, Canada and Asia applauded the change: “It is great news that the e-Tourist Visa has returned. It is a much simpler, faster and much cheaper option for customers traveling to this beloved destination.”

Newmarket Holidays offers nine guided tours and has 60 available departure dates for India in 2023 and 2024, with all guided group tours including hand-picked accommodation, guided excursions and activities that take travelers beyond the guidebooks, meals, transfers and return flights.

Three of their most popular tours of India are:

India – Tigers and the Taj Mahal, a bestseller that is the perfect introduction to one of the world’s most fascinating and enticing destinations. He visits the Golden Triangle of spectacular northern cities, Delhi, Agra and Jaipur, and incredible sites such as the Taj Mahal at sunrise, the Palace of the Winds and the ancient Amber and Red Forts, before searching for tigers in the jungles of Ranthambhore.

India’s Rajasthan – Palace and Fort, a small group tour with overnight stays in some of North India’s finest heritage hotels and packed with memorable experiences including the Gatimaan Express, Agra, Jaipur and remote Bikaner, Ras Niwas Palace cruise Cruise past the Chambal River, the amazing Jain Temples in Ranakpur and the monumental Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur.

Kerala & India’s Beautiful South, explores an idyllic land of ancient ports, labyrinthine backwaters and forested highlands dotted with temples and tea plantations. Highlights include a narrow-gauge railway ride through the Nilgiri Mountains, the old seaport of Kochi, and French-influenced Pondicherry, home to a Hôtel de Ville and beret-wearing gendarmes.
