Weather

Temperatures in Barcelona average around 20-25 degrees Celsius in May. This climate is perfect for wandering around the city. From the mountains of Tibidabo to Park Güell or even exploring the Gothic Quarter, walking around has never been so enjoyable!

At this time of year it is even possible to swim in the sea! The waters are a lovely temperature, so be sure to take advantage of the beach on your travels. We recommend the popular beach of Barceloneta. This beach is often quite busy, but for good reason. Beach bars and tasty seafood restaurants abound, as well as proximity to the rest of the city.

We also recommend Bogatell beach. Although a little further out, this beach is the quieter choice if relaxing is on your agenda. The soft sand and crashing waves are there for the taking! Why not try some beach activities during your stay? Beach volleyball courts are readily available. So grab your friends and head there in May!

Ciutat Flamenco Festival

When it comes to culture, it doesn’t get much more authentically Spanish than flamenco. The Festival Ciutat Flamenco takes place all over the city, in several iconic locations. So don’t miss it!

All performances revolve around flamenco (of course!), but there is a lot of variety within this category to be explored. There are many traditional flamenco performances to see. However, many dancers bring a taste of a new form of flamenco to the stage. With other musical influences, such as jazz, these shows experiment with new techniques, styles and melodies. Well Barris Festival Major

Nou Barris is a lesser-known and relatively undeveloped neighborhood in Barcelona that is popular with locals for its quieter atmosphere and traditional Catalan identity. The neighborhood is located between the neighborhoods of Sant Andreu and Horta-Guinardó and is a true taste of authentic life in Barcelona.

Every year on the second half of May, the Festa Major de Nou Barris takes place. This year the festivities will take place in the main square, or Plaça Major de Nou Barris, where many traditional dances, concerts and performances will take place.

Local residents, traders, entrepreneurs and associations keep this wonderful tradition alive year after year. And one thing is for sure… You won’t get bored! For example, on Saturday night the Correfoc will light up the city, with children and adults dressed as demons and dragons running through the neighborhood with fire and light.
