Additional US military aid to Ukraine
This week, as Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine continues at great cost, we are once again reminded of the boundless courage and unwavering determination of the Ukrainian people, and of the international community’s strong support for Ukraine.
Pursuant to a full powers of attorney delegation from President Biden, I authorize our 33rd withdrawal of US arms and equipment to Ukraine since August 2021, valued at US$400 million. This military assistance package includes more ammunition for the US-supplied HIMARS and howitzers that Ukraine uses so effectively in self-defense, as well as ammunition for Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicles, Armored Vehicle Launched Bridges, explosive ammunition and equipment, and other maintenance and training units, and Support.
The United States continues to mobilize the world in support of Ukraine. We’ve seen incredible commitment from our allies and partners. We applaud the more than 50 countries that have united in solidarity with Ukraine to help them defend their sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Russia alone could end its war today. Until Russia does so, we will stand with Ukraine and strengthen its military on the battlefield for as long as necessary, so that Ukraine has the best possible position at the negotiating table.
