Top activities in Verona

One of Verona’s most famous attractions is Juliet’s Balcony, which attracts visitors from all over the world. It may be a bit touristy, but it’s still a must-see for anyone who enjoys Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. You will also want to visit the famous Arena di Verona, which dates back to the 1st century and is one of the largest amphitheatres in the world.

  • Juliet’s House (top recommendation – visit early as it gets busy)
    • Visit the balcony and museum (note there are many stairs)
  • Touch the chest of the Juliet statue
  • Shopping in Piazza dei Signori
  • Watch a show/opera at the Arena di Verona (schedule here)
  • Visit the arena on a non-show day (it’s older than the Colosseum)
  • Castelvecchio Museum
  • Walk along the Adige River
  • Romeo and Juliet touring show (book in advance here)
  • Take a walking tour of Verona (lots of amazing treasures and lots of history)
  • Cable car to Castel San Pietro before sunset
