The Fulbright program is the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the US government, which aims to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries. The Fulbright program in Switzerland offers students and researchers with Swiss citizenship and knowledge of English the opportunity to pursue a Master’s or Ph.D. or to teach and conduct research at the postdoctoral level at an accredited university in the United States in almost any field of study. Depending on the program, the duration of the scholarship ranges from three months to one academic year. Successful applicants to the Fulbright Foreign Student Program will receive a stipend of approximately $20,000 for one academic year, and successful applicants to the Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program will receive a stipend of approximately $35,000 for one academic year. Applicants from universities of applied sciences are particularly welcome.
