Minister Blinken publishes the Human Rights Report 2022
Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken will make a live remark on March 20, 2023 at 11:30 am in the US Department of State Press Briefing Room regarding the release of the 2022 Country Reports on Human Rights Practices.
Acting Assistant Secretary Erin Barclay of the Office for Democracy, Human Rights and Labor will take questions in the briefing room immediately after Secretary Blinken’s remarks.
Promoting respect for human rights and defending fundamental freedoms are central to us as a country. The United States will always support those around the world who fight for human dignity and freedom. The 2022 Country Reports on Human Rights Practices—which US law requires submission to Congress—document the state of respect for human and labor rights in 198 countries and territories.
Instructions to disable access to country reports will be sent to the press on March 20, 2023 at 9:30am. The entire report is LOCKED until the start of the press briefing. According to the Minister, the individual reports will be publicly available at www.state.gov.
This event will be open to the public and will be streamed live on www.state.gov.
