Fees and Payment Methods – U.S. Embassy and Consulate in the Republic of Korea
Accepted payment methods by courier (Ilyang):
- Pay.gov through the US government’s secure payment site. After successfully paying the fee, you must print it out electronic payment confirmation receive it by email and attach it to the package you send to the embassy.
- International money orders from banks in Korea (Note: If one or more of the requirements listed below are not met, the application and payment order will be returned to you without notice.)
- USPS Domestic Money Orders (but not USPS International Money Orders) This option is available for those who have access to the USFK installation.
- There must be a barcode/numeric code at the bottom of the payment order.
- Banking information (or address) must be included on the money order.
- Payment orders must be made payable to “CASHIER FMC US EMBASSY SEOUL” in exact US Dollars.Overnight delivery and expedited service options are not available to applicants located outside of the United States.)
- Your name and local (Korean) phone number must be on the back of the money order.
- The money order must have been issued within the last six months
- It is not mandatory for the money order to be in the applicant’s name. You can ask someone else to issue a money order on your behalf.
Examples of international money orders
Please do not attach the money order to any document. A removed staple can interfere with proper processing of a payment order.
