The Vice President of Nigeria Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, the President of the African Development Bank Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, and other partners will launch the Investment in Digital and Creative Enterprises (i-DICE) program in Abuja on Tuesday, March 14, 2023.

The launch marks the rollout of a flagship initiative that will boost vital funding for Nigeria’s digital and creative industries. Alongside leaders from government, businesses and development finance institutions, the event will feature young people working in the digital technology and creative industries, students and investors.

i-DICE is an important step towards a significant scale-up of entrepreneurship and innovation in digital technology and creative industries, including film, fashion and music.

The program is part of the Federal Government of Nigeria’s efforts to rebuild better, greener and more inclusive and to create sustainable jobs for the growing youth population. It will consolidate the country’s position as Africa’s leading destination for start-ups and youth entrepreneurship.

i-DICE is co-financed by the African Development Bank, the Islamic Development Bank and Agence Française de Développement. The Federal Government of Nigeria provides counter-financing through the Bank of Industry, which also acts as an executive agency. A steering committee chaired by the office of the vice president will oversee the initiative in conjunction with a technical committee composed of business leaders and ministries, departments and agencies.

The DICE Fund, a venture capital outfit to be established under the program, will attract additional funding from institutional and other private investors.
