The 6th World Forum on Circular Economy, WCEF2022 will take place December 6-8 in Kigali, Rwanda. Under the theme From Africa to the worldthe forum will present a wide range of circular solutions for different industries and sectors, with a particular emphasis on seizing the opportunities to improve livelihoods and end poverty, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, adapt to climate change and protect biodiversity.

WCEF2022 supports the global momentum of the UN climate conference COP27 and the biodiversity conference COP15 with a powerful tool: the circular economy. It will address trade, value chain, policy and technology challenges in the transition to a circular economy. It is also expected to showcase diverse, indigenous circular solutions from Africa.

The government of Rwanda, the African Circular Economy Alliance, the African Circular Economy Network and the Finnish innovation fund Sitra will organize the event together with international partners.

Hailing from Finland, the forum is one of the world’s leading circular economy events and will bring together business leaders, policymakers and experts from Africa and around the world to showcase circular economy solutions and explore how companies can create sixteen new opportunities.

WCEF2022 speakers include World Bank Global Director Valerie Hickey; Kristin Hughes, executive director of the World Economic Forum; Wanjira Mathai, director general of the World Resources Institute; and Jeanne d’Arc Mujawamariya, Rwanda’s environment minister.

Forum sessions in Kigali will be streamed live via wcef2022.com. There will also be WCEF2022 African Studios in Yaoundé, Lagos, Cape Town and Lusaka, as well as other locations around the world.
