Musk supports DeSantis – fellow enemy of the “wake agenda” – as president

Elon Musk is dejected as Ron DeSantis becomes the next US President. And the two have similar thoughts on the “woke agenda.”

The moody billionaire tweeted his support for the Florida governor on Friday night. reply with “Yes,” when a Twitter user asked if he would support a DeSantis run for the White House.

“I prefer someone sane and centrist for the 2024 presidency. I had hoped that would be the case for the Biden administration but have been disappointed so far.” wrote the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, who owns Twitter after its $44 billion acquisition last month.

He added, “As a reminder, I was a significant supporter of the Obama and Biden presidencies and (reluctantly) voted for Biden over Trump.”

DeSantis hasn’t announced a White House bid, but speculation has been rife. The Republican governor easily defeated Democrat Charlie Crist at halftime to secure his second term.

Like Musk, DeSantis has consistently opposed the “wake agenda.” In his victory speech earlier this month, he said, “We are fighting the awakened in the legislature. We fight the guards in the schools. We fight the awakened in the corporations. We will never surrender to the awakened mob. In Florida, the awakened dies. I’ve only just started fighting.”

The “Wake Mind Virus”

Musk has carried out similar attacks. He tweeted in April that “the wake mind virus is making Netflix unwatchable.” And this month, Musk reinstated satirical site Babylon Bee’s Twitter account, which had been suspended for being misgendered by Rachel Levine, the US Deputy Secretary of Health and Human Services and a trans woman. (Musk’s ex-wife, Talulah Riley, had urged him to “do something to combat waking up” and was particularly concerned about the Babylon Bee account suspension, asking “why has everyone gotten so puritanical?”)

Musk also brought back Donald Trump’s account. In January last year, days after the Capitol riots, Twitter permanently banned Trump “due to the risk of further inciting violence.”

Musk repeatedly criticized the company’s move, as well as its content moderation policy in general. After acquiring the company, he immediately fired Twitter’s top executives.

Trump, who announced post-midterms that he would run again in 2024, will no doubt resent Musk’s support for DeSantis. The ex-president backed DeSantis’ candidacy for governor in 2018, but the relationship between GOP leaders has cooled as DeSantis grew in popularity with conservative voters.

Trump accused DeSantis on Nov. 10 of lacking “loyalty and class,” and he instituted the nickname “Ron DeSanctimonious” at a rally in Pennsylvania. He also warned that if DeSantis ran, he would “reveal things about him that aren’t going to be very flattering — I know more about him than anyone — except maybe his wife.”

Whether he would reveal such things on Twitter remains a question. Trump has indicated that he will stick with his own social media page, Truth Social (an app developed by Trump Media & Technology Group), even though Musk is reinstating his Twitter account. musk made lewd jokes about Trump being tempted to tweet again, while Trump responded to his reinstatement by saying that Twitter as a company “may not make it”.

Musk again yesterday criticized the original decision Suspending Trump’s Twitter account, writing: “Importantly, Twitter is correcting a serious error in suspending his account, despite no violation of the law or the Terms of Service. The removal of an incumbent president has eroded public trust in Twitter for half of America.”

But he added, “I’m fine with Trump not tweeting.”
