Cooperation Agreement with the Dominican Republic to develop Baseball and Softball in Saudi Arabia

The Saudi Baseball and Softball Federation signed a cooperation agreement with the Directorate of the National Baseball Commissioner of the Dominican Republic, Thursday.

The MoU was rubricated by His Excellency the Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to the Kingdom, Mr. Andy Rodríguez Durán, on behalf of the National Baseball Commissioner Mr. Junior Noboa.

The agreement aims to benefit from the Dominican Republic’s expertise in baseball and softball, especially since it is one of the leading countries in the game, and its national team is one of the strongest baseball teams in the world.

Baseball and softball represent the most popular sports in the Dominican Republic and have a great history dating back more than 130 years, and its team achieved the biggest leap in the world rankings in December 2024, and achieved the second highest number of points in one year among men’s teams in the world.

For his part, the President of the Saudi Baseball and Softball Federation, Nayef bin Mohammed bin Hamid, stressed that signing this important agreement represents a shift for baseball and softball in the Kingdom in light of the unlimited support of the wise leadership for the sports sector, which is witnessing an unprecedented historical leap.

The President of the Saudi Federation added that the agreement comes within the Federation’s efforts to develop the game and create a distinguished generation of players who present an honorable image of Saudi sports, to contribute to achieving Vision 2030 and its goals at the sports level, noting that the agreement aims to benefit from the Dominican expertise in discovering talents and holding training courses in a way that contributes to developing the game in the Kingdom and represents an extension of the great steps it has achieved in recent years, noting that the agreement will allow national teams to participate in official tournaments, which contributes to refining the experiences of players and coaches and opens the door to discovering more talents.
