In an ongoing effort to enhance the capabilities of African journalists and media professionals in Egypt, investigative journalist and founder of the “Artificial Intelligence Revolution” initiative, Iman El Waraqi, is scheduled to participate in a training course on artificial intelligence and journalism, which the “Afromedia” initiative will conduct next Monday at the Journalists Syndicate.
This step comes within the framework of the celebration of Africa Day, and will coincide with the anniversary of the founding of the Organization of African Unity and World Press Day.
The training course is scheduled to be organized under the supervision of the African Union Office in Cairo, relying on the directives of Africa Agenda 2063, which seeks to raise the voice of African peoples and appreciate the role of future generations in achieving African unity and its aspirations.
The course is also based on the communication strategy prepared within this agenda with the aim of uniting segments of African society and enhancing awareness of the importance of media programs.
Iman Al-Waraqi, who has extensive experience in the fields of journalism and artificial intelligence, is expected to contribute to enriching the training content and enhancing the skills of participating journalists and media professionals, which supports the initiative’s goal of providing smart and innovative journalism that reflects the diversity and integration of African society.
Al-Waraqi is an investigative journalist and international trainer. She has won six international and local awards in investigative journalism, most notably the “Arab Journalism Award.”
It is expected that the course topics will include data journalism, artificial intelligence, information verification mechanisms, and mobile journalism, in addition to investigative journalism and podcasts as forms of contemporary media.
