CULTURAL HERITAGE PROJECTS
Have you ever wondered how the United States works with Mexico to preserve and protect its cultural heritage? This interactive map lists the U.S. government’s efforts to preserve cultural heritage in Mexico. You will find projects funded by the Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP) and the Cultural Property Agreement Implementation Grant (CPAIG), law enforcement collaboration to repatriate Mexican cultural heritage, and other projects funded by Mission Mexico. The United States respects and admires Mexico’s cultural heritage and is proud to work with Mexican partners to protect and preserve it.
CAMINO REAL DE TIERRA ADENTRO
We invite you to a virtual tour of two places along the Camino Real de Tierra Adentro.
These 3D experiences explore the Temple of San Bartolomé in the Valle de Allende and the ancient Hacienda de Peñuelas in Aguascalientes. These websites tell the story of this route, which enabled the exchange of people, goods, ideas and religion.
The virtual tours were developed by the INAH centers in Aguascalientes and Chihuahua. This project is made possible thanks to the support of the US Embassy in Mexico and implemented by the American NGO CyArk.
