Administrative office
The Embassy London Administrative Office oversees a broad range of administrative functions to ensure the efficient operation of the mission and to support the advancement of the U.S. Government’s foreign policy objectives in the United Kingdom. These management functions include:
- Building maintenance: Maintains and manages physical infrastructure, including buildings, utilities, security systems, and grounds, ensuring the security and functionality of mission facilities.
- Financial management: Oversees financial activities including budgeting, accounting, receipt preparation, cashiering and financial reporting. Ensures compliance with financial regulations and policies, efficiently manages embassy funds, and effectively allocates resources in support of mission operations and objectives.
- general Services: Directs the housing and lodging program for mission personnel, procures goods and services, manages mail and courier services, supports logistics for events and official events, maintains the mission motor vehicle and vehicle fleet, and provides transportation services.
- Health Unit/Medevac Center: Provides medical support and services to embassy personnel and their families, including routine medical care, emergency medical assistance, immunizations, health education, and promotion of wellness initiatives. Serves as the department’s regional medical evacuation center.
- human Resource: Manages personnel-related functions for American and local personnel in support of mission operations. Performs local employee recruitment, benefits administration, compensation, performance management, employee relations cases, and training and development. It also manages the accreditation of American diplomatic personnel and position management issues.
- Diplomatic technology: Supports U.S. diplomatic objectives through the use of innovative technologies that improve security, flexibility and reliability. These efforts increase operational efficiency and strategic communications within Mission UK and align our capabilities with US strategic priorities.
