Press release: USA and Liechtenstein sign declaration of intent on apprentice training

Education, and Sports Dominique Hasler sign letter of intent
for the exchange of knowledge in the area of apprentice training
US Ambassador to the Swiss Confederation and the Principality of Liechtenstein, Scott C. Miller, and Liechtenstein Foreign Minister Dominique Hasler yesterday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to expand their cooperation in the area of apprenticeships and other work-based learning programs and the creation of jobs in both countries. The MOU recognizes the excellent relationship between the United States and Liechtenstein and the value and importance of high-quality, diverse, and inclusive apprenticeship programs across a broad range of sectors and professions.
At yesterday’s ceremony in Vaduz, Liechtenstein, Ambassador Miller said that “further strengthening partnerships between industry, labor, education and government in apprenticeship programs will help equip students and workers with the work-related skills and qualifications necessary to start a… “These partnerships and programs will also help provide employers with a trained and well-prepared workforce capable of driving business productivity and growth and fostering innovation.”
The Ambassador thanked the U.S. Departments of Labor, Education and Commerce for their cooperation in this important endeavor that further strengthens the relationship between the peoples of the United States and Liechtenstein.
The Ambassador is also pleased that the three departments are immediately expanding their SelectTalentUSA pilot program to enable Liechtenstein-based multinational companies to establish apprenticeships in their US operations. SelectTalentUSA is a joint initiative housed within the U.S. Department of Commerce’s SelectUSA office designed to provide concierge support to foreign multinational companies seeking to expand the talent pool in the United States.
