Uzbekistan Ratifies International Labour Organization Convention on Wage Protection

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan has ratified the International Labour Organization (ILO) Convention through a law signed on 12th March 2024 (ZRU-918).
This ratification pertains to ILO Convention No. 95 concerning the protection of wages, adopted in Geneva on 1st July 1949.
According to Article 3 of the convention, wages must be paid exclusively in the currency legally circulating in the relevant country. Payment in the form of bonds, vouchers, coupons, or any other form seemingly consistent with legal currency is prohibited.
