The meeting, held recently, highlighted the shared commitment of both countries to address challenges related to migration and employment opportunities for their citizens.

A focal point of the discussions was the Egyptian-German Center for Jobs, Migration, and Reintegration, which serves as a pivotal institution facilitating the integration of Egyptian migrants into the labor markets, both at home and abroad. Established in November 2020, the center has been instrumental in providing essential services to thousands of Egyptians seeking employment and reintegration support.

The center’s mandate encompasses a wide range of activities, including vocational training, career counseling, and guidance sessions aimed at assisting individuals in finding suitable employment opportunities. Moreover, it plays a crucial role in reintegrating returning migrants into Egyptian society, thereby contributing to their economic and social empowerment.

During the meeting, Ambassador Hartmann reiterated the strategic and historical ties between Egypt and Germany, emphasizing the importance of successful cooperation in addressing migration challenges. He commended the efforts of the Egyptian government in establishing the center and underscored Germany’s commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at enhancing the prospects of migrants and facilitating their integration into host societies.

Minister Ghandi, in turn, expressed her appreciation for Germany’s support and highlighted the center’s achievements in empowering Egyptian migrants. She emphasized the Egyptian government’s commitment to promoting safe and legal migration pathways and reiterated the importance of collaboration between the two countries in this regard.

The visit also provided an opportunity to discuss future initiatives aimed at expanding the center’s reach and enhancing its effectiveness in addressing migration issues. Both sides agreed to explore avenues for further cooperation, including the development of joint training programs and awareness campaigns to combat illegal migration and promote safe migration practices.

In conclusion, the meeting between Egyptian and German officials underscored the shared commitment of both countries to addressing migration challenges and enhancing opportunities for their citizens. The Egyptian-German Center for Jobs, Migration, and Reintegration stands as a testament to the fruitful collaboration between the two nations and remains poised to play a pivotal role in facilitating the integration of migrants and promoting safe and sustainable migration practices.
