The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in collaboration with the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, organized the Omani-Brazilian Business Forum held in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The forum aimed to increase the volume of trade between the Sultanate of Oman and the Federative Republic of Brazil and to create a platform for cooperation between Omani and Brazilian companies.
Rashid bin Amer Al-Muslahi, the First Deputy Chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stated that the forum aligns with the strategic directions approved by the Chamber’s Board of Directors to serve the private sector in expanding economic diversification and improving the business environment through meetings with various Brazilian institutions and companies.
He emphasized that the forum, conducted in cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion, aimed to introduce investment opportunities in the Sultanate of Oman. Oman’s market possesses numerous investment potentials that enable it to attract opportunities from South America in general and Brazil in particular.
Al-Muslahi pointed out that Oman’s geographical location qualifies it to be a hub for re-exporting Brazilian products to many emerging markets, given its proximity to markets and direct maritime routes. He expressed hope that Brazil would serve as a gateway for Omani products and investments to promising markets in South America.
During the forum, Brazilian companies were invited to participate in the “Omani-Brazilian Investment Forum” and an accompanying exhibition of Brazilian companies, scheduled to take place in Muscat in May. The Chamber expressed its readiness to provide all facilitations to ensure the success of this conference, which would be a significant step in establishing new trade partnerships that benefit both Omani and Brazilian markets.
William Adib, Vice Chairman of the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, emphasized the importance of opportunities and potentials between the Sultanate of Oman and the Federative Republic of Brazil in enhancing bilateral relations through trade and investment exchanges. He noted that Brazil found in the Sultanate of Oman a capable primary partner in the fertilizer sector. Adib added in his speech that Oman enjoys a strategic geographical location that allows Brazilian products to reach several international markets, including Asian and African markets.
