Culinary specialties for SWISS long-haul travelers in First Class and Business Class /

Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) is currently offering culinary creations from the gourmet restaurant ‘Aux Trois Amis’ in the canton of Bern to First and Business Class guests on outbound flights from Switzerland. The Michelin-starred restaurant with 15 GaultMillau points is located in the idyllic wine-growing region of Lake Biel, among the vineyards between Biel and La Neuveville.

The ‘Aux Trois Amis’ can look back on almost 130 years of hospitality and tradition and today places a special emphasis on exciting new interpretations of classic regional dishes. Chef de cuisine Marc Joshua Engel chooses ‘SWISS Taste of Switzerland’ for light summer specialties that reflect his own culinary experiences from Asia, Australia and New Zealand. And sommelier and chef Cynthia Lauper has provided some fine wine pairings to round out the SWISS guest’s onboard dining experience.

“The ‘Aux Trois Amis’ succeeds in mixing Bernese cuisine with original influences from all over the world,” enthuses Julia Hillenbrand, Head of Brand Experience at SWISS. “The hosts truly create a unique dining experience, with the savory desserts paired with fresh herbs being a particular highlight. Twenty years of fine dining in the air

Since December 2002, SWISS has been taking First, Business and Premium Economy Class travelers on its long-haul flights from Switzerland on a culinary journey of discovery through the different regions of the homeland. chef is invited to create a varied selection of top dishes from their canton ‘home’, with a particular focus on regional and seasonal specialities. Wines and cheeses from the region are also served with meals. In its 20-year success story to date, ‘SWISS Taste of Switzerland’ has welcomed 78 guest chefs representing each of Switzerland’s 26 cantons.
