Celebrating 60 years of JFK’s “I’m a Berliner!”
60th Anniversary of JFK’s Berlin Speech
We honored the legacy of President Kennedy’s historic words in a series of events:
- Speech at the public Berlin citizen festival
- Live TV Interview
- Inauguration of the room in the Chancellery with unveiling of his portrait
Ambassador Gutman delivered a speech at Schöneberg City Hall commemorating JFK’s historic speech:
“I’m a Berliner” – with this sentence JFK made it clear why we have to stand up for the common freedoms and democratic values of the USA and Germany. His words are as true today as they were 60 years ago. @RegBerlin @KaiWegner @BerlinTempSchbg @TimSriver… pic.twitter.com/N0wISmB4Ca

President Kennedy’s message in defense of democracy is as timely today as it ever was.
As I said this morning #ZDFMomawe will stand by Ukraine for as long as it takes – and “we” includes Germany and the United States.https://t.co/TpocCxMBlL

To honor JFK’s indelible impact on transatlantic relations, we’ve unveiled a powerful new portrait of Shepard Fairey. It is the heart of the JFK forum @usmessage – a tribute to a President whose legacy will never be forgotten, in Berlin and beyond. @ArtinEmbassies… pic.twitter.com/2DTyPiLHOj
