Academic and cultural exchange for entrepreneurs
Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE)
AWE is a global economic empowerment exchange program created in 2019 by the US Department of State in partnership with Arizona State University’s Thunderbird School of Global Management and the Freeport-McMoRan Foundation. Through AWE, women entrepreneurs participate in a facilitated entrepreneurship program complemented by localized content, networking and mentoring opportunities. In Mexico, women entrepreneurs complete intensive virtual training in fundamental business skills and participate in weekly discussions with experts and entrepreneurs to put the training into context. Mission Mexico has developed key public-private partnerships to support AWE and its participants, including Amazon, AT&T, UPS, and the Vive Latino Iberoamerican Music Festival.
