The Chinese State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) recently hosted an Open Day event under the theme “Witnessing Happiness – Building a Better Future.” Held at the company’s headquarters, the event aimed to strengthen relations, enhance the brand image, and deepen Sino-Egyptian friendship.
Attendees had the opportunity to share their stories about China, emphasizing the quality of collaborative construction projects under the Belt and Road Initiative. Alongside the event, a promotional video titled “We Are Chinese Companies” was released, along with a book titled “Deep Friendship in the Desert: Selected Articles on ‘Me and My Chinese Friend'” by CSCEC.
The event took place at the main hall of the CO3 administrative building in the Central Business District (CBD) of the New Administrative Capital. Distinguished guests included Mr. Shan Guangxiu, Director of the CSCEC Group, and Mr. Fang Sichong, Director of the Eighth Sector of CSCEC.
Also in attendance were Mr. Zhang Weicai, Chairman of the CSCEC Board and President of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Egypt; Dr. Ahmed El-Banna, Project Manager of CBD at Dar Al-Handasah; Dr. Ahmed Salam, Former Ministry Deputy Spokesperson and Former Media Advisor at the Egyptian Embassy in Beijing.
Other notable guests included Ambassador Ali Al-Hefnawi, Former Assistant Foreign Minister and Vice Chairman of the Egyptian-Chinese Friendship Association; Mr. Xiao Ben, Deputy Executive Director of the Chinese Cultural Center; and Engineer Amr Khattab, Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Housing.
During the ceremony, the winners of the “Me and My Chinese Friend” essay competition were announced. The event concluded with participants taking a tour of the CBD project.
The Open Day event not only showcased the achievements and contributions of CSCEC but also served as a platform for fostering cultural exchange, strengthening business ties, and promoting friendship between Egypt and China. It highlighted the mutual benefits of collaboration and cooperation in building a brighter future for both nations.
