Foreign Minister Meets Ukrainian Counterpart in Paris

Dr. Badr Abdel Aati, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, held a meeting with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiha today, Thursday, during his presence in Paris to participate in the ministerial meeting on Syria.
Minister Abdel Aati praised the cooperation relations between Egypt and Ukraine, expressing his aspiration to reach the level of bilateral relations to broader horizons, in a way that achieves mutual benefit for the peoples of the two countries, stressing the Egyptian side’s aspiration to hold political consultations with the Ukrainian side during the current year in Cairo.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs valued the increase in the rate of trade exchange between Egypt and Ukraine to approach the level it was at before 2022 (more than 2 billion dollars), referring to the recent visit of the Ukrainian economic delegation headed by the Minister of Agricultural Policy during February 2025, and his hopes that it will contribute to increasing agricultural imports to Egypt from Ukraine, stressing the importance of strengthening trade cooperation relations between the two countries and launching tripartite cooperation between Egypt and Ukraine in Africa.
The two ministers also exchanged views on regional developments, most notably the latest developments in the Gaza Strip, where Minister Abdel-Ati referred to Egypt’s efforts to ensure the sustainability of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and the implementation of all its provisions in its three time stages, in addition to the importance of moving forward with early recovery and reconstruction projects and programs, without the Palestinians leaving the Gaza Strip.
