Foreign Minister Discusses Latest Developments in Gaza Strip with Bahraini Counterpart

Cairo – Nessma Youssef

Dr. Badr Abdel Aati, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, met today, Thursday, with Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the sisterly Kingdom of Bahrain, during his presence in Paris to participate in the ministerial meeting on Syria.

Minister Abdel Aati praised the fraternal and close relations between Egypt and Bahrain, pointing out the importance of continuing joint work to raise the level of distinguished cooperation between the two brotherly countries and move it to broader horizons in all fields, expressing keenness to coordinate and cooperate on files of common interest.

The two ministers reviewed regional developments, most notably the latest developments in the Gaza Strip, and the ongoing arrangements for holding the emergency Arab summit in Cairo, pointing to Egypt’s efforts aimed at ensuring the sustainability of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, and implementing all its provisions in its three time stages.

The two ministers stressed the importance of moving forward with early recovery and reconstruction projects and programmes, without the Palestinians leaving the Gaza Strip, and the importance of striving to reach a permanent and just political solution to the Palestinian issue through the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
